Cardiomyopathy

The Pediatric Cardiomyopathy Program at Monroe Carell is one of the largest programs in the country treating patients with heart problems from before birth through adulthood. We specialize in diagnosing and managing all forms of cardiomyopathy in children, including the three most common types of heart muscle disease: dilated, restrictive and hypertrophic cardiomyopathies.

For children with a family history of cardiomyopathy, we offer screening, consultation and long-term follow-up. Screening is also important for children with risk factors such as exposure to certain types of chemotherapy, neuromuscular or skeletal disorders and mitochondrial disease.
