Comprehensive Epilepsy Clinic
The Comprehensive Epilepsy Clinic team at Monroe Carell works to understand why your child has seizures and find the best, least invasive, treatment plan. Our goal is to help your child live with less frequent or severe seizures and, in some cases, be free from them.
Treatment plans often begin with medications and testing. However, your child may not respond well to these treatments. If not, they may be a candidate for other treatment options. These include dietary therapy, brain stimulation and surgery.
Our first step is to learn your family’s goals for your child regarding their seizures. We talk in depth about your child’s seizures, medications, development and past test results. We also discuss how we can help if your child’s epilepsy has not responded to previous treatments.
Together, we will decide which options are best for your child and family, and have the highest chance of reducing seizures and improving quality of life.
