Neonatal and Pediatric Transport
Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt’s pioneering Neonatal and Pediatric Transport service was the first of its kind in our region. We offer specialized neonatal and pediatric critical care transport 24 hours a day, primarily serving Tennessee, Southern and Western Kentucky and North Alabama.
Our Neonatal and Pediatric Transport Team specializes in emergency transport of critically ill children from birth to age 21 requiring care at Monroe Carell.
Our Team
The Neonatal and Pediatric Transport team includes a registered nurse, a registered respiratory therapist and emergency medical technicians. Each registered nurse and respiratory therapist is experienced and trained in our intensive care units and emergency department to provide specialized care for the most critical neonatal and pediatric patients. Each EMT undergoes emergency vehicle operator and defensive driving training.
The team can transport patients while using on-body cooling, bubble CPAP, ECMO, high flow nasal cannula, high frequency ventilation, mechanical ventilation and nitric oxide.
