Single Ventricle Program
The human heart has two ventricles – chambers that pump blood to the lungs and other organs. Some children are born with only one ventricle that, with the right intervention, is large and strong enough to work. This is called a single ventricle condition.
The Single Ventricle Program at Monroe Carell is dedicated to the care of children with single ventricle congenital heart differences, including hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) and many others.
For these delicate conditions, we bring together an extensive team of pediatric heart specialists, cardiac surgeons, pediatric anesthesiologists, genetics and nutrition experts and more to ensure that every child entrusted to us receives the best and most appropriate care possible.
Conditions We Treat
