Appointments
Call (615) 322-7601 for
- Medical Genetics appointments with our geneticists, genetic counselors, nurse practitioners and/or dietitians
- Emergent inpatient consultations, 24 hours a day. Ask the operator to page the geneticist on call)
- Appointments at our outreach clinics in Cookeville, Spring Hill and Hendersonville
Prenatal counseling
If you are pregnant and are interested in genetic counseling, call our team at the Center for Women's Health at (615) 322-2308.
Cancellations
Failing to keep your appointment may delay our ability to see your child later. If you must cancel, call as soon as possible. If you are running late, call us to determine if we should reschedule.
Your visit
Visits may include
- Review of medical and family history
- Physical exam
- Discussion of possible diagnosis and testing options
- Time for family to ask questions
- Discussion of implications for family members
- Helping you find resources
If possible, bring photographs of family members. We encourage both parents to attend. Clinic visits that include a complete evaluation take about two hours.

After your visit
The medical professional who referred you will receive a summary of your visit. We will contact you by phone with test results or schedule a follow-up visit to review the results.
