Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center

Serving as a regional referral center for more than 2 million people, Monroe Carell is certified by the state of Tennessee as a Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center (CRPC). As such, we provide comprehensive, specialized pediatric medical and surgical care to all acutely ill and injured children. This is the highest level of certification for pediatric care in Tennessee. We are the only hospital in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky dedicated solely to the care of acutely and chronically ill children.

As a CRPC, Monroe Carell works with referral hospitals in Middle Tennessee to improve pediatric emergency care through

• Establishing pediatric transfer and educational agreements with referral hospitals
• Providing pediatric educational opportunities for healthcare providers
• Monitoring pediatric patient outcomes and implementing quality improvement programs

The CRPC Outreach team conducts trainings at hospital emergency departments and EMS stations all over middle Tennessee and beyond. We offer education to healthcare professionals at their facilities to improve children's care in their communities.
