Dr. Grochowsky showed interest in me as a human being as well as a patient with a lifelong (76 years) history of unusual symptoms and still no satisfactory diagnosis, much less a prognosis or, if possible, a maintenance or corrective treatment plan. Dr. G. Was welcoming, cordial, upbeat, enthusiastic, and optimistic. Dr. G. Never behaved like a clock watcher only interested in billable hours; never made me feel that I was just a widget on an assembly line within the corporate model of health care. I don't want to be a client being serviced by an interchangeable provider. I am happy to report that Dr. G. Acted as a physician-healer treating me as her patient.
